Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch of sea salt
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean extract can use regular too
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet baking chips
Instructions
  • Heat oven to 350 degrees f.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, add sugar, cocoa, egg whites, salt, and extract. Whisk until fully combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Spoon 1 tablespoon of batter on baking sheet. You need to space these apart because they do tend to flood slightly and will bake into each other if you do not give them enough room.
  • Bake for 9 minutes.
  • Allow cookies to cool at room temperature before using a spatula to remove. The sugar makes these a little sticky so make sure they are cooled.
  • Enjoy with some ice-cold milk

I like these recipes. With time on our hands, this is a great time to try new things.
As I find them, and go through my own recipes from the past, I'll be adding them on for everyone. Let me know what works and doesn't for ya!

I thought of that and it would work if the local shops were out of about 30% of what I needed, but it's much worse than that. Things like pasta or canned food are in and then gone by the end of the day of delivery. It'll calm down, but it was first, a minority of people with big budgets buying up everything, and then since it's everyone else foraging for the scraps those locusts left. Talking to my brother in Bath, this is a local thing; my city just has people who really suck! So no way to order if whole sections of the shopping list are gone. But don't worry; I'm okay now and have managed to get some basic supplies in. Including pasta! I missed a nearly a whole week of it! Losing pasta was honestly harder than losing beer and cutting down on smoking!
So glad that you got supplies and that you are doing better.

Got this email this morning.....my vets rock. They've found a way to keep everyone, including the pets, safe.

Dear Debi,

We understand that pets are an important part of the family, therefore medical care for your pets is important, even now. We want to assure our clients that we are open and will continue to provide medical care during this difficult time. In order to continue to provide care, we know we must take measures to protect our clients, our staff, and our patients.

We are now asking our clients to let us do the legwork while you wait safely and comfortably in your vehicle. Enjoy our concierge service.

  • Shortly after arrival at Franklin Animal Clinic, a concierge will greet you at your vehicle.
  • We will check your pet in for their appointment and escort them into the building for you. Please have your feline friends in a secure carrier. For our canine companions, we ask you to keep your leash and place one of ours.
  • Your doctor will then call you on your cell and walk through your pet’s examination and recommendations.
  • Payment for services can be done easily on the phone or via our pharmacy payment window.
  • Your 4-legged family member as well as any needed medications will then be brought out to your vehicle for you.

Pick-up for foods and medications can now be done at our convenient outdoor pharmacy window.

We may be able to care for your pet without a trip into the clinic at all. Photos and videos can be sent to our email address at info@franklinanimalclinic.net. If your pet is a current patient at Franklin Animal Clinic dealing with a chronic issue or post-op concern, we may be able to help without an appointment.

Don't forget to utilize our online pharmacy to get home delivery of the medications and diets your pet needs. Check out our website for discounts: www.franklinanimalclinic.net.

We appreciate your understanding during this time. At this time we do not know how long we will continue to provide concierge/curbside service. We anticipate allowing clients into the clinic only for end-of-life considerations. We also ask our clients to be considerate of their own health. If you are ill or running a fever, please have a friend or family member bring your pet. Take care of yourself and stay safe!

Your Friends at Franklin Animal Clinic

Well, I couldn't take the risks any longer, and took a 14 unpaid leave of absence from my job. It was getting way too dangerous for me. I need the money, but......
You do what you need to do, Noble. My great nephew has done the same to isolate to keep us safe as he lives with us. Prayers to you, my friend.
