I guess it depends on whether or not I'd be part of the main story. Could I have a nice little vacation in Middle-Earth where I just hang out at the Inn of the Prancing Pony then occasionally travel between Bree and Rivendell? Or would I be required to follow the Hobbits through all the dangers they face?
