What exactly is a thought form? And why is it important to know about them?
According to ancient teachings, during the process of thinking and feeling, which are two closely connected activities (people seldomly think without feeling, nor feel without thinking), there are two phenomena that take place.
The first is that you create a 'thought form' (or also known as a 'thought entity'). A thought form is a real, living being (or entity) that is created by the process of thinking. It is made up of energy as well as containing emotional and mental matter. It can be well-formed or vague. The clearer the thought, the more well defined it will be. Also, the thought form can either be positive or negative, depending on the thoughts and emotions of a person. For example, anger creates a negative thought form, while compassion can create a positive thought form.
Secondly, the acts of thinking or feeling also produce what is called a Psychic Radiatory Field (PRF). The concept of a PRF is similar to that of a signal tower that sends out radio waves. When you think and feel something so strongly, you radiate an energy field with the context of that feeling or thought. This 'radiating vibration' conveys the character of the thought, but not its subject. In other words, a thought form contains the exact content of your thoughts and emotions, while the PRF only contains the quality of your thoughts and emotions.
As an example, happiness and joy radiating from one person can stimulate similar vibrations in a nearby person. You may have noticed this yourself too. You feel happy when you come into contact with someone who is joyful because that person radiates a positive energy field. However, when you come in contact with someone who is angry, you tend to be affected by the negative energy field emitted by that person.
Thought forms are 'real' in the sense that they become (for a period of time) a kind of independent 'living' phenomenon. To explain this in layman terms, a thought form is the spiritual equivalent to a computer program. The sub-routines will keep running the same program until the time where an intent and focus is made, by you, to change them.
So, why should we care about them?
A thought form directed towards an individual will have an effect. For example, a thought of love and a desire to protect, directed strongly towards a loved one, will create a thought form. This will go to the person and remain in their aura as a shielding and protecting agent; it will seek all opportunities to serve, and all opportunities to defend.
The opposite is also true. For example, if you were to be present in an environment that contains a lot of stress and anger, such as a busy office, then you would generally tend to get stressed and angry yourself. This is on account of strong PRFs, containing stress and anger, which are present there.
There are several types of negative thought forms. There are weakening ones that are caused by unnecessary belittling remarks and criticisms. These tend to have seriously damaging effects on the person they are being projected upon. The negative thought form, when accepted in the aura, and some of the chakras of a person, will result in a poor self-image, low self-confidence, low self-esteem and will hinder the future success of that person. Again, in layman terms, it is like introducing a sub-routine that runs the same negative program over and over again. There are others like aggressive thoughts, snobbish thoughts, racist thoughts, and violent thoughts to name a few.
Intentional or not, these negative 'programs' have a tendency to cause bad consequences. Hence it is important to learn to protect (or shield) yourself from negative thought forms. It is also important to learn and apply techniques that can help to purify your space.
Every so often, thought forms can 'break away'. They can become 'independent' and haunt a person, or a location, as like any 'regular' paranormal energies. They are highly 'suggestive'. The thoughts and beliefs of a thought form can be changed by 'input' from the living. This was famously demonstrated during an investigation by Amy Bruni and Adam Berry in an episode of the TV paranormal show Kindred Spirits (Zombie Boy - Season 5, Episode 2. Worth watching to get an idea of what I am babbling on about!).
We also have to consider that, if entities have the power to draw on energies to appear to us as an apparition, does this carry the same truth for thought forms? And if so, could there be a relationship between thinking and feeling a negative form en mass, like through the world wide web, and it appearing to us in actual 'living' form, such as phenomena like the Mothman, or the Rake? What if Bigfoot was nothing more than a thought form created by thousands of living people, thinking up their very existence from every corner of the planet?
We exist in a world of thought forms and emotional energies, not all of which are beneficial. In fact, we are constantly bombarded by negative energies. If you are not properly protected from these contaminants, you can be affected spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically and financially. You can learn scientific ways of utilising energies to properly protect yourself, your belongings, surroundings and loved ones from negative and destructive energy patterns. You can also learn several ways to shield one’s self from projected negative thoughts and psychic contamination by strengthening your aura, and by removing negative energies and vibrations.
Another important thing to recognise is that it is important to generate positive thoughts towards other people. Scientific studies show that plants grow better if you talk to them. Can you imagine what the effect would be if you were to say loving, nurturing, and supporting things to other humans? They too will progress faster and become better human beings. On the other hand, if you keep verbally and mentally criticising people, then you would in turn be obstructing that person’s progress. By the Law of Karma, you in turn are entitled to receive the same from others.
