I haven't heard of anyone losing internet here. It is amazing that things like this can happen!

That was one big jolt and it still has some slightly smaller flares hitting 4 days later.

Storms like this are always being warned of. Celestial events have occurred throughout history and in our modern times can and will cause havoc to technology. One day mass power outages and loss of satellite capability will happen. It is a matter of time. We just have to be ready for it.
