It is so glaringly obvious there is a cover up, it doesn't even need to be declared.

"When asked why he suspected a 'cover-up,' Burchett pointed to the vast financial and technological gains that could be made should evidence of extraterrestrial life become public..."

I think the key word there is "financial" and the word "gains" should be changed to "losses."
That being the real reason for the cover-up.
