I am not the designated wrapper in the family. I can cover the gift in pretty paper and apply enough tape to keep it sealed, but it is by no means a neat job! My wife does a much better job, and while probably not good enough for a job at the wrapping counter at Macy's, at least it looks nice when she's done.
I'm one of those people who unwraps a present with gusto. If I haven't ripped the paper into at least three chunks I feel like I've done something wrong! Besides... it's going to be used for starting a fire in the fireplace afterward anyway, so it doesn't really matter if it's ripped or not.
