You've totally skipped my favourite John Carpenter films! (The Thing and In the Mouth of Madness.) He was a great director though.

The thing was great, but Mouth of Madness did go off the rails midway through lol.

I agree and it shows you can make a good scary movie with good content and writing, no need for the gore.

Stevedog, I took a film class in college as an elective. Best darn thing I did back then. Really makes those movies a lot of fun to watch.

I knew that... mostly! The name is pretty good, so I looked it up the first time I heard it. But thanks for the reminder, as I'd forgotten it was a Chicago thing.
