They sure look like the gray aliens that people report seeing today. If I recall correctly there is folk lore in some tribes of the "ant people". These sure look like that.
In sierra Leone a village has carvings and statues and ritual outfits that represent star people. I can't remember exactly what they called them. I wasn't really paying too much attention to that story at the time.

this makes me think of the urban legends of the melonheads/waterheads in the woods or under the bridges that were common in some geographical locations.... maybe that urban legend goes way back....lol..... interesting how things can be so similar yet so far away.
They do look like the legend of the melon heads not that you mention it.
