Apparently they did an experiment where they attached devices similar to Richter scales to plants in a green house, and they took one plant and started ripping leaves off it and such. The devices picked up "excitement" in the other plants when the other plant was being torn apart. So I think it's possible.

Oh. Have you ever tried to grow a coffee tree/plant...whatever it is?
