‘Signals of interest’ found in search for alien life

I don't see any intelligent species using radio signals to try and communicate. Radio travels at the speed of light. Far too slow for communication or travel. It would take 4 years for a signal to reach even our nearest neighbor star. 100,000 years to reach the other side of our galaxy. Another problem with using radio signals is the fact that every star, every planet, every moon and even the asteroid belt gives off radio signals. It doesnt take long before a coherant radio signal is washed out by all the background noise.
