Road workers building a new bypass have unearthed the Ice Age remains of a woolly mammoth and a woolly rhino.

The team, working on improvements to the A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon, discovered a number of bones while digging near Fenstanton.

Experts believe the remains, found in what was once an ancient river, could be at least 130,000 years old.

Palaeontologist Dean Lomax said discoveries like this were "exciting" and "quite uncommon".

Highways England confirmed the prehistoric bones will be sent to specialists in London for further analysis.

I sometimes think that Bigfoot is merely our human ancestor who lived back then & were/ big enough to deal with all the giant fauna.

Being smartest of the animals, a remnant few survived whatever pressures killed off the rest. And that’s today’s BF.

Aren’t the musk oxen the only other critter supposedly left over from back then?

I keep hoping the scientists will collect enough dna to clone one. How great would it be to see one in real life. I’m not talking Jurassic park. Just one !

I lean toward it being a real creature too. It may have some unusual abilities too

it's just that it would be caged up for humans to gawk at. :(
Well I’m sure it would get a really nice habitat. The zoos In Anerica have come a long way to making nice habitats for animals. It doesn’t have to be a cage.
