Ok, but why me? He was dead long before any of his grandchildren were born, a total of ten of us. None of my cousins had, or at least admitted to have had, similar experiences.

I think your vibrations were matching at the moment for you to see him. I bet he visited all of you and maybe still does. The moment was just right. It may have been purposed to trigger a belief in you to be a seeker in these things. You have a very scientific mind and without seeing something like that perhaps you would not ever have looked at the spiritual side of life. You have an interest in these topics and without that experience maybe your life course would have been different.
