Dancing. I wasn’t a good dancer - actually far from it. I was great at endurance as I could dance for more than 30 minutes without stopping. I enjoyed dancing even being bad at it. But I was enthusiastic. So I was popular with the girls. I used to be able to easily get a girl to go with me to an under 21 club on any random Friday or Saturday night. We’d dance until the places would shut down.
You HAD to be popular! You know how hard it was to get a guy to dance????? Dang, man! The girls must have been lining up! lol
I was a year younger than everyone else in my year, and looked really young, at an all boys school,so got picked on at first.I was smaller than most kids too.The teachers organized an arm wrestling comp, anyway I came second only to a huge guy.I never had to fight at high school as was welcomed into the cool, tough group even though I was a sensitive ,quiet kid.The comp worked well for me.
I was good at bridging the gap between the popular 'clique' and the unpopular (the rest of us) 'clique'. It was uncanny looking back. Mixing those two groups together successfully. Never could do anything with the jocks though. They were just jerks.
LOL OK, I'm getting a better picture of that now. I was visualizing moonshine sold out the gym door...lol
