WHAT KIND OF COMFORT FOOD DO YOU WANT WHEN IT'S COLD OUTSIDE? Soup? Stew? Chili? Mac and cheese? What calls your name to warm you up?

(Yes, even you Florida people who think 60 degrees is cold...lol)

    Jambalaya :)
Gonna make chicken & sausage soup tonight or tomorrow. It's just runny Jambalaya with wild rice. :p
Pasta sauce is really Red Pork Stew in my kitchen. :D
Bread. Good bread. Like it's OK to fill up on bread, bread.
Ham & bean soup, potato soup, minestrone.
(Oh goody, this is why I live here.)

Debi offered up all of my favs. I am a total savory freak. As much as I can appreciate desserts, I am hooked on savory - the more herby the better. I’m going to offer up Mac n Chez Debi as my go to. Quite literally any version of M n C will do. I’ll take the most generic, box made stuff to the five cheese stuff my girlfriend makes.

Gotta link the recipe thread..... Oh wait, didn't the Bigfoot ham sandwich and pie thread go into various defences of berry pies and a ribald discussion of the merits of Kentucky ham and Virginia ham. Saddly my ham on rye bread with pumpernickel swirl , according to Bigfoot experts, would not tame a Bigfoot. :(

I’m just hoping Noble that you typically have these two favorites separately.

WandS, thanks for the compliment. Nice of you. However, should you come to Chicago right now there may be negative and detrimental consequences to visiting my kitchen.
#1 You need real winter clothes. That costs $.
#2 You will be immersed in the aromatic arts. Garlic, onions, herbs, peppers and something called shallots.
So, you come back home all excited. Your girlfriend will wonder if you really got rolled in a Gypsy Camp. You are broke, smell, and wearing a funny coat that wasn't yours.:(
