I have a good record, believe it or not, I may go a few years without a legal plate or insurance but other than that I do abide by the rules of the road. Probably because I hate cops and i dont want to have to deal with them.

I know hate is a strong word to some sorry for using it but the rules of this forum prevent me from using stronger words.

So am I...for the most part. :p;) I've broken a few speed limits (with good cause, I might add), but I tend to either sing going down the road or I'll talk to myself and other dirvers. A bit of commentary on driving skills, etc. Fair warning...if you honk at me for something, I will then sit there doing exactly what you honked at me about longer. JUST to let you know I will do it my way, thanks! Think I'm driving too slow? I will go slower. Don't like I didn't move fast enough when the light turned? OK, let me feed the birds here for a bit. I'm never aggressive....but I will be annoying if you cross me. ;)

As far as age, I was sixteen. My high school did not have buses, so I had to be able to drive as soon as possible, which was sixteen. I follow the rules of the road. As Lynne said, if you know me, you know I would. Police have a very difficult job, and it's shame that so much time and effort has to be put into traffic duty just because people won't follow the rules of society. Everyone is too much into themselves today. A more selfless society is something I would like to see again.

I got my license at 18 (that's the minimum age one can get a license here). I tend to drive with a heavy foot and basically follow my own rules, sometimes for safety reasons like not stopping at red lights and stops after 10pm (provided there's no cars/cops). I've racked up a total of nearly R8000 in speed fines, which is around $648 at time of writing and one arrest. In SA, 40km/h or more over the speed limit is a summons unless you get pulled over then it's an arrest and a court date must be booked. Was doing 126km/h in an 80km/h zone, but when I went to court the charges were dropped luckily so still got a clean record. And having 15 years of playing Need For Speed, it's come in handy at times as well lol, once when my car nearly spun out due to an oil slick and I ended up pulling off this amazing drift around the corner trying to control the car.
