I'm not a beer drinker, but I saw Old Speckled Hen during my time in the UK. Also didn't develop a taste for the alcoholic cider popular in the UK.
Really? I love cider! We find it strange that yours isn't alcoholic (am I right about that?). Surely it's just apple juice otherwise?

What are some traditional US desserts? Obviously I know about things like apple and cherry pie but are there more obscure ones that I won't have heard of? I think we've wandered slightly off topic, so apologies Debi!

No, not confused; I think you meant that what we call jello here (dessert) is referred to as jelly by people in the UK. Right? and BTW, I can't stand jello. Always hated it even as a child; a sensory issue, I suspect!
