I’m right there with you Cass. I believe that it is likely our psychic sense that best perceives (especially) residual haunting more than other senses and mechanisms.

According to the metaphysical viewpoint; the psychic sense is what perceives a phenomenon, the brain organises that perception into whether we see, hear or feel it, etc; and the ego compares it to other experiences and knowledge we already have, in order make sense of it.

Those perceptions that reach us before the brain or ego get their hands on it, make the clearest impression on the consciousness.
