Mornin peeps. Ugh….4:15 a come early, not for Selectric tho Lol. Had a lil trouble sleeping last night as I rarely ever sleep before a big trip. Wife started fussin an hour in because my tossin and turnin and made me take a Lunesta which I half-sleepily protested. It knocked me out so much when the alarm went off, I honestly thought it was a mistake. Lol. It seemed to me like I had just went to bed! Check in this morning went smooth and without incident. Sittin here at gate C3 waiting to board…..Time is 6:03 am.

Have a great trip Mr and Mrs Lonny! Be sure to drag Bigfoot back to Louisiana kicking and screaming. Might even clear the plane out for a nice comfortable flight ;).

Evenin folks. 6:32 pm Pacific time here. Today’s deployment of recorders was pretty much a Disaster! I don’t even know where to begin. Things are not in my favor such as not knowing the wilderness mountain roads, not bringing a paper map and relying on satellite GPS, and last but certainly not least, traversing these rugged mountain gravel roads in a 2024 Chevy Malibu with low profile tires!!! We basically did a giant loop and ended up in the next town over 10 miles down the road.

Although I feel if we try to get to Mount Adams again, we could make it but I guess, part of being a man, and doing what’s best for you and protect you and your wife is to make smart decisions, and taking that car 22 miles back to the mountains to Mount Adams, It’s just not a good idea. When, in doubt err in the way of caution! I did however get 8 of the 12 recorders out so…. The day wasn’t a total loss.

Well, That’s my report for today. Hope everyone is doing well and have a great evening.

I just did something pretty dang cool if I might say so myself. I just placed my last recorder and wedged it into the bark of an old grandfather tree! And then ran the mic to a nearby sapling, who knows what kind of stuff I might get!

Bruce tree crash recorder upon deployment, then retrieval. It appears to have been pulled off the tree…. I know I did 2 wraps with the E-tape…. The recorder was lying on the ground when I went to get it…
