We experience the world through five senses plus possibly some sort of empathy/ sixth sense. Some creatures can only see in black and white, others have no sight. Dogs experience the world mostly through smell, which we barely perceive. Birds navigate through senses alien to us. What if we share the world with another intelligent species which exists outside of what our limited senses can experience? They could be everywhere, even right there leaning over your shoulder as you read these words and only sometimes coming into our awareness through barely developed senses we don't understand. Our poor brains would do their best to interpret this alien input but how we 'saw' them would be determined by our own imaginations.
I've long thought that something like this may be true.
And it isn't under your bed and never was because it never had to be. It's in your bed with you and you don't know!
