Oh yes....they actually have a "drone runway" here at the base near me where they train some of the pilots of the dang things. So...can those things just "hover" like that?

I dont know if the plane type can ,but but they do have a helicopter type drone

Wondered about that....seems awfully high up there, tho.

The farthest up I have seen a consumer drone ascend (judging by the known heights of the buildings imaged and telemetry data) is around five hundred feet. Then again, the drone was only about the size of my laptop...
