A little more than $150,000 per year for three years? Not a lot of money in the DoD world. Sounds like a low level lab demonstration project, or "science fair project" as they are jokingly referred to.
its like arts and crafts on a gov. budget. I wish they would just send me the money to play with.

The Navy speaks up about those patents...

"The cost was $508,000 over the course of three years. Around ninety percent of the total - $462,000 - was for salaries, while the rest was used for equipment, test preparation, testing and assessment."

So only $56000 was used for purchasing equipment and conducting tests?
