UFO Disinformation

I must be missing something. Is this article claiming the military has taken advantage of people mistaking classified a/c as UFOs?
:innocent:

This guy is an idiot. That's been going on since the late 40s, when we began designing/testing advanced aircraft. In fact, in the early 1990s the CIA released a report stating, based on a review of their records, over half of the UFO reports in the US from the mid 50s-late 60s were highly classified, overhead reconnaissance aircraft, (primarily) U-2s, and later, SR-71 or its variants.

When I was in the black world, we used to laugh our butts off when people would mistake aircraft we were flying for UFOs. Many were one-offs/very low production concept or technology demonstrators. This a/c, for example, freaked out some people.

The F-117 was also reported fairly frequently early on, as was the B-2.

We never told anyone they were seeing flying saucers, we just didn't tell them what they were seeing. If they wanted to think it was aliens in spacecraft, they provided a great cover story, not us.
