Looks like a reflection. More impressive than the individual story was the way the sighting was evenhandedly reported by the NC TV station.
Does MUFON ever solve or close a case? Nowhere I can find on their website do they post investigative reports or updates on reported sightings to which they assigned case numbers. I've gone to their site multiple times to see what they came up with relative to sightings posted here, but never find anything.
***Said in a snarky voice*** They probably gift wrap the info and send it to the government.
You know, never seen one solved or officially closed in my memory. Peter Davenport does close some I think. I believe I have actually heard him state "Case closed as it was proven to be....". Words I've not seen or heard out of MUFON.
