Time Glitch Reports

I loved reading these accounts! I must say that of all the weird things that I have experienced, I don't think that I have ever lost time.

However, my younger sister shared an event that happened to her and my younger brother when they were both teens. I was away at school at the time. The weather was warm, and they had been on their way back home, early in the evening. At this time of the day, people were usually out and about; kids playing in the street, neighbors sitting on their porches.

They noticed that there was no one in sight on the entire block, and that it was oddly quiet. They kept expecting to hear something; conversation, radios playing, or kids shouting but it was absolutely quiet. When they reached our house, they saw an ambulance in front. A man was standing on the front porch and he wanted to know if they had called an ambulance. They had not. The man drove away and suddenly everything went back to normal.

I would say I have had gaps of missing time in the past...The one that stands out the most is a day when I was 23. Was driving in broad daylight on a county road (very long straight road). I traveled about 15miles or so without remembering the trip, I remember starting out( nobody on the road) then poof 15 miles later, wondering how I got to that point so fast. ;th ;ss

Driving tends to become a bore so our brain can lull us into blanking out for a bit. Whether we concentrate on surroundings or music on stereo, we may keep one eye on the road, but time does seem to stand still until we look at the clock. I had one instance where that occurred. Did i lose time or did my brain shut off for the duration? No clue. I have had dreams where i was very aware of not knowing how i got to where i was dreaming about. Some sort of lucid dream? Perhaps. Two particular dreams off hand i can think of were me 'waking up' in the woods and not knowing how i got there. The one it was very dark and silent, but my eyes were adjusted enough to see i was not near anything or anyone. The other reminded me of a UFO experience as when i 'woke', i was surrounded by what seemed like a storm. There were leaves swirling around me from the strong wind and light in the darkness surrounding me.

I agree with Selectric . I have been on long drives / trips where 50 miles will go by while I was thinking about something else or I was listening to a podcast. Driving almost becomes involuntary, like breathing . . and suddenly you are in the next town.
