Uphill, both ways was the expression I heard.they also never will know what it was like to have to walk everywhere you went..and it was all uphill.....lol
A popup or fly ball easy for the fielder to catch. The ball may have been hit hard, but it was easily caught. We used that expression in softball, when I played many years ago.Can of corn.

I had it this century. Depends how hard up your neighbours are. Not common though, perhaps because you have to actually know your neighbours?"Can I borrow a cup of sugar?" I remember neighbors doing this all the time as a kid, but not since the 70's. Did people stop baking?
