MY 'SLIDER' EXPERIENCE
About 30 years ago I did a cycle-camping trip around Lincolnshire (England), and as I passed Cranwell RAF college and airfield in the early hours of the morning on a deserted road, the row of streetlights in this (modern google street view,) pic went out one by one as i passed them, and came back on a few seconds later-
(North on right)

I thought somebody was pranking me, so I just cycled on without giving it any more thought.
Some time later I heard that other people all over the world had experienced it too, so I searched the net and saw it's a fairly well-known thing called the 'Slider' effect (pics below from the net).
I never tried to do it deliberately, it just happened, and it's never happened to me since, and neither have i tried to make it happen.
Perhaps there's a lot of "psychic energy" or whatever around old airfields because of all the student pilots who trained there, many of whom were killed in WW2.

The term "slider" was new to me when I came here but I have experienced it first-hand. My daughter had this issue while growing up and would often blow light bulbs when she touched the switches. I never noticed if the lights just dimmed, the bulbs would just go out and would have to be changed. This was a repetitive event, your sliding event only happened once so that makes me wonder if it wasn't a coincidence with an electrical issue that happened at the time you were there. Our personal experiences are eunique to the person so of course many of us have had one off paranormal experiences. It is an interesting topic for sure.

I have had it happen here and there, and it could well have been a random effect. During one winter years ago, I was going through a great deal of stress and in danger of losing everything due to health issues. I would take a walk every night ; the times would vary. Yet each time I passed a streetlight on my block, it would go out then come back on after I had passed it. At the time I barely noticed it but after a week I wondered if there was some wiring issue that got triggered when I passed it. I think now that I was affecting it. My biggest thing was light bulbs, radio signals, electronic signature panels and computers.

When I was a child and we used regular television sets, I would disrupt the antennae signal whenever I entered the room where it was.

Here is a thread where we discussed it in further detail.
