Hey, 1980s fans! Everyone’s favorite alien, Gordon Shumway, is coming baaack!

Now that it’s been confirmed that season 3 of “Stranger Things” won’t drop until summer 2019, we have something else to focus all of our ’80s nostalgia-fueled hopes on: Warner Bros. Television is developing a reboot of the classic ’80s sitcom “ALF.”

No one at Warner Bros. Television is talking yet, but TVLine first reported the news and Variety has confirmed there are plans to bring our favorite fuzzy cat-eating alien back to television! (Seriously, when Dustin’s pet demogorgon ate the family cat in season 2 of “Stranger Things,” didn’t we all think of ALF?)

In the original TV series, ALF — which stands for Alien Life Form — was from the planet Melmac. After he crash-landed on earth, he found a home with the Tanner family (yes, the same last name used in “Full House“) in the suburbs. The sitcom is built around the Tanners’ attempt to maintain their normal lives with a permanent guest from outer space — a hungry, sarcastic one, at that — in their home.

ALF aired for four seasons on NBC from 1986-1990 and was featured on a wide variety of “ALF”-themed merchandise from plush dolls to backpacks, as well as becoming wildly popular in Germany.

Though “ALF” has been off the air for 28 years, the beloved character has remained a consistent fixture in pop culture ever since, from making an appearance in Delta’s 80s-themed safety video to “ALF” references in TV shows like “Teen Titans Go!” and “The Big Bang Theory.”

While there isn’t a network or writer attached to the “ALF” reboot yet, one idea for the new show that has reportedly been floated would involve ALF’s return from Area 51, where he’s been held since the original series finale, to join a new family and observe how much the world has changed since he’s been gone.

One of my favorite series of all time, hope they don't screw up the reboot like has been done with others programs.
