I used one once with a girlfriend. The board belonged to a friend of mine from school and i borrowed it for the weekend (with many warnings). At the time we were head deep into trying to research who owned the big abandoned house next town over. My friend who lent us the board also has been past the same house with us. It was strange how the amount of people we got to go with us snowballed. To be clear, this is the same house where many experiences i've had were in the surrounding area. So anyway, we start asking questions and the responses were immediate. Of course i thought gf was messing with me, but the look in her eyes was pretty real. Not getting the answers i wanted of course i began demanding the right ones. By that time the planchette went around in a circle and slid off the board. I called my friend and told her everything and while we were on the phone, she asked did i say goodbye? I did not. So flung the phone down and did so. The 'spirit' we were talking/arguing with claimed it was a little boy that died some years before. That night as i was falling asleep i had one of those herky jerky quick dreams, like stumbling or falling and waking up quickly. As i woke, i swore i heard a little boy giggling in my bedroom. I also noticed an odd shadow in my dormer. I couldn't place what could be making that shape, but shrugged it off and finally went to sleep. Not sure why, but i still have this board. Don't know if my friend didn't want it back or life took over and we both forgot over time...though we did work together at same store in the mall and seen each other everyday at school. Those days are hazy and to this day i still wonder of the origins of where 'my friend' came from. Though many dreams occurred in my childhood home, through the haze, i believe they began with dreams in the old abandoned house i mentioned. So, broken record time lol. This stuff is not a novelty. Inexperience and no protection is extremely dangerous. Somewhere i picked up a 'hitchhiker' that bothered me for years. Though it finally ceased, it could've been avoided. When the house was engulfed in flames, i was getting ready for work. I knew that second the house was gone. I stood in the kitchen of our blue house (also haunted) listening to the multi-alarm sirens and knowing in my core, that was where the fire was. As i was heading into work, i passed the multiple firetrucks putting the blaze out. Strange how ONE night entering that house years before tied me to it. Did 'my friend' have the chance to leave the confines once it was erased from existence? Perhaps.
