The heat is on...

Winter over here atm but I can't stand hot weather. I had air con and a pool at my last home but you couldn't walk on the wooden deck in Summer as it would burn your feet. I've moved to the Blue Mountains now and the Summer temps rarely get beyond 30C.

I was watching the video and thinking of the movie Beverly Hills Cop. I wish it was the 80s! The more older movies I watch the more I hate this current period of time! Its too complicated and stupid.

I feel the same way. I did recently watch Beverly hills cop and enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time! When current events get to me, I go to older movies.

The Goonies is my go to happy movie! I wish they'd do a sequel or a series! Every cast member is still alive! They could all have kids who continue the adventures!
Oh! The dude who played Sloth passed and I think the old mean woman in the movie did also.

From the point of view of future historians they will see the Age of Enlightenment and then this, the Age of stupidity.
Today, Axel Foley would say something cool and then get loads of social media comments with clown emojis and crying laughing emojis from people defending the art dealer and praising the Beverly Hills PD.
Though I'd take the 90s over the 80s. I think the millennium doom prophets kind of had it right, but they expected a bang rather than warping into an alternate reality of dumbness.

We had a great liar at my junior school, Simon. So 'Simon says' took on a different meaning, but in a fun creative way. One of his things was claiming to have seen films which may or may not really exist, but were all really shocking and adult for reasons he'd be happy to explain. Goonies 2 was one of his classics which he strung many along with. The idea was that was they made a sequel but it was banned because of its shocking content. Much of this revolved around 'One Eyed Willy'.
And I love the real Goonies!
