Well, I can't take it. I have to start a Coast to Coast AM thread so I can track my complaints...lol

Starting out today with George actually asked Tommy on air to check on paid caller Thomas from La Jolla because he hadn't called in 6 times this week with his normal 10 minute "guest" visit to ask his double questions and lavish praise on George. The fact someone calls in so much that you have become more well known than some of the guests themselves says something. (Besides, this guy is Paintman's "favorite" paid caller...lol)

Now, I shall give credit where credit is due, which is not often with George. Joshua P. Warren was on last night and wanted to give a formula for "conjuring" a spirit/elemental/demon. He admitted he wasn't sure what it was...possibly a gremlin. George told him no. Twice. Joshua said conjuring whatever it is that he conjured up could be used for "good" to fight for a better world. (He inferred politically.) George held his ground despite Joshua pushing the matter. It seems Josh wanted to have everyone call up some sort of "army" of unknowns and set them on task. For once, George did a good thing.

If Thomas is a paid caller, which I have my doubts about, he's doing his job very well since he's gotten you to talk about the show. I tend to think he's just an annoying, yet relatively articulate, older guy who loves George and the show. There's no accounting for taste.

The regular caller who drives me up a wall is "Joe from Monterrey." The guy is a self proclaimed expert practitioner of all things paranormal. He's an exorcist, visionary, medium, channeler, time traveler, and somehow a member of some intergalactic consortium of advanced alien civilizations. For whatever reason, he has a number of "clients" who pay for his wisdom. He will inevitably call into C2C to tell us the guest is right, as if his seal of approval is the end all, be all. Ian absolutely destroyed him a few months back on an open lines call. I was so giddy over Joe being exposed for what he is, I wore my Kansas St tshirt (where Ian is a professor) the next day.

I want it noted that the first thing I said about George was something nice...lol ;)

Thomas, paid or unpaid, sets my nerves on edge much as Joe does for you. If he'd just get to the point already! ARG!

If I had to pick a regular caller I thought was a paid shill, it would be atheist/super skeptic "Walt from Pennsylvania." Radio people want a shill who goes against the grain of the host/show, someone who is contrary to the very premise of the show. The idea is to make the listening audience despise the shill and react to him/her. People are more inclined to speak up (and call) when they disagree with someone than they are if they agree.

I would just like to know how Mike the Millennial, Corny, Annie, Joe and Thomas can all get through night after night. And George hates those people who disagree with him. I think he prefers the flattery.

Actually I decided to start this thread because Joshua was so "out there" last night. I really couldn't believe he'd even suggest such a thing. I honestly think he caught George a bit off guard with the conjuring topic.

Could be as simple is it's not that difficult to get through when calling, especially during open lines which take place between 3-5 am EST. Many of those regular callers tend to call during open lines. It's also possible at least some of the regulars, particularly those who are very positive in what they have to say, are given a "hotline" number to call. I know local radio stations do that on some shows.

Warren is one of the biggest frauds on paranormal radio, a lightweight wannabe who knows all the buzzwords and eats up minutes. If I see Warren is a guest, that segment is immediately deleted.

A quick Warren story. Ever hear him talk about his "laboratory" in NC? A colleague and his family were vacationing in Asheville, so I asked him to swing by and tour the lab. He called me laughing so hard he had trouble talking. He said it looked like someone had bought out a 1960s high school science lab.....test tubes, beakers, oscilloscopes, a Van de Graaff generator, etc.

Family show.
Cant mention Thomas the slightly fey blowhard know it all.
Not worth getting banned.

Duke, Rush had a segment of his show to Premiere Radio Networks paying for callers. He was livid. $45 to read a script. Thomas is a bad reader.

There is no question radio shows/stations/networks hire shill callers, I know for a fact "IHeart" predcessor "Jacor" did it for both political and sports talk shows. Their role was to fire up listeners and generate calls. Most were on-air personalities employed by the company in other markets.

On another site, I remember reading about Thomas calling other shows around the country using different names. I think there was even a clip included of him on another show. If I can find it, I'll post it.

Oh I know what that little jerk is up to.
Reddit has many terrible things to say about Thomas.
I post that stuff in his own house.
Why do I give a darn about this? It is a dying Radio Show and a needy man. George and Thomass.
And they ruined my favorite show.
