In the late 90's I had a lot of money on my business books that I needed to spend or get taxed on.
So I bought a bunch of naked furniture. Well made, but not final sanded or finished. Butcher block table. Stools. Hutch, end tables. This could conceivably be a business expense because I could resell it after finishing it.
I also kept a leather recliner, custom made to order from a fancy furniture store. Found a leather that looked like my baseball glove ( Brought it into the store !)
What's cool is I get to enjoy these things every single day. $ well spent.
