Years ago I was a bouncer in a bar in Maryland. It was rumored to be haunted and every staff member had a story to tell. I admit at the end of the night when we were closed it had a odd feeling. I'd been there for awhile and never saw anything and would brush off other staff members stories. Then on a Tuesday night there were 2 bartenders,1 waitress, 1 Cook and myself. Then 2 staff members sitting at the bar and 2 regulars. Behind them there was a table of 4 having drinks and dinner. It was super slow. I was standing in a doorway between the bar and the waitress/kitchen area just chatting with everyone. Then a wine glass came off the rack hovered in the air and smashed to the floor! Everyone but the table of 4 saw it. Now these racks are tilted toward the wall at an angle because when we had live band the vibration would cause them to fall. Also it it would have just fell it would have landed where the liquor bottles and coolers were. If I hadn't had a front row seat I'd said bs,but I saw it and to this day it's still amazing to me.

I've seen similar things happen...hovering. I believe ya, K-9. I have often wondered what it is about bars that draws this kind of activity...outside of the obvious alcohol that gets blamed. But I think it's more than that. Did this place have a history of activity that could be confirmed?

It was an old building and at one point there was a fire. I never really looked into it too much. I just accepted it and the fact odd things happen there.

Well, if spirits liked to frequent bars when alive it would make sense that the ones that hang around would hang out in them. I think there is a certain low vibe about bars, and like attracts like. Now I am not saying they are a bad place to be, and I occasionally go myself, I am just saying alcohol, addiction and some low vibe people may attract the same in a haunting. Seeing something like that really changes how we view the world for sure.

I've always managed to live or work in haunted areas. Town I grew up in haunted and weird. High school was in williamsburg va and I lived 1 mile from Jamestown. Newport news/VA Beach...ufo hot spot. Maryland surrounded by civil war battlefields...wrecked on 3 of them..lol. Harper's Ferry, NY I lived in a ufo and haunted hot spot and worked off duty a an old seminary that was being turned into a school. There actually was a room they used for exorcisms there. Took Diesel by that room 1 time and he went nuts! I left and never went near that room again. I did hear things there ,but never saw anything. Now I'm in bigfoot, ghost, and other weird things area.

Seriously though. There is a lot of energy, both good and bad, from people who frequent bars. So it seems like they would be a place that might be attractive to roaming spirits. When I was stationed in Arizona near Tombstone there was a lot of violent history surrounding the local bars, I'd imagine that many other bars have had similar tragedies without having to be 100+ years old.

I agree. Bars/taverns/pubs/what-have-ya are all gathering places. Most of the ones i have been in are upbeat and positive, some were downright ruff (spelling intended lol) and you had to be on your toes. Either way that constant congregation of people (energy) can leave an imprint of something. If something terrible happened at a specific location, the gathered energy might be perfect for 'things' to manifest.

I'm not sure it was a bar when it burnt down? This bar was wild! Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights you could guarantee violence and lots of it. There was always alot of negative and positive vibes all at the same time. It seemed like our slow nights are when it would get active. We did have the alarms go off after close alot. Never found a single person there. Unfortunately we only had cameras at the front door outside. If we would have had them inside we definitely would have caught something!
My crew did eventually get that bar under control, but now it's been in the news for shootings and stabbings.

It does seem like certain locations attract evil.
