Terraform Mars and Venus?

I would love to be able to come back in 500 or 1000 years just to see how far we've advanced (or killed ourselves off, more likely). Terraforming either planet will take many, many generations, but the only way to guarantee our long-term survival in the galaxy is to become a multi-world species. It will take a lot more cooperation amongst ourselves, and shared vision, before we can attempt such feats in earnest, however.
