Stories from the Road

Well, here's an amusing one; at least it was to me. I was driving a moving van from CT to PA, and my daughter of 17 years was with me. I was moving into a new place and had written down the directions, but I took the wrong exit. I thought I saw a graveled lot to turn around in, so I pulled in there. To my dismay, I felt the truck's tires sinking into soft earth and realized that I had pulled into a small field. An elderly man came out shaking his fists and complaining about "college students" tearing up his field. I was puzzled, because I wasn't a college student. But I was flattered! I guess I looked younger than I realized, at the time. I apologized and he helped me turn around and be on my way!
