Star Trek: What Exactly Are Photon Torpedoes?

( to the surprisingly complex holdocks. more like thousands of nuclear explorations going off at the same time. ) Sorry couldn't resist. Perhaps should've used the photon spell checker ;) Any time watching Trek it never seemed their torpedoes were ever similar to a nuclear missile. They always seemed to be as powerful as the story needed lol. The newer Battlestar depicted a nuke better than photon torpedo.
 
I was expecting to hear if they were actually possible? A scary thought in the hands of scientists and generals. An interesting article though.
 
There was an episode of "Star Trek Enterprise," the prequel to STTOS, where they explained the photon torpedoes and how they were developed.
 
I once interviewed at Paramount for a part as an alien on ST Enterprise. All they wanted to know is if I fit the costume.

I didn't.

That's as close as I've ever come to a photon torpedo. :cool:
