The should have just added the leaf ring around the outside and then be done with it.

I wonder if the flag design will change as the new Star Trek series update their flags?

Might as well sew a target onto the first guy to step out onto a non-Earth plant or satellite. Some alien is certain to want a shot at us invaders.

I just saw local news footage of the preflight static rocket firing test at the Cape - it was successful. The news then showed a shot of an official conference room with about two dozen nearly elderly men and a few late-middle-aged women - a few wearing covid face masked - watching the firing.

It hit me as a band of planet-wide officials watching the readying of our last chance vehicle intended to get a final few people off this planet. All of those eyes seemed to be filled with resignation rather than resolve.
