Seven years ago today was an important day in my life. It started a new chapter...one I didn't see coming and almost didn't get to write.
I went into respiratory failure at 5:20 AM on this date in 2018 from complications from flu...if it had been a year later I would have sworn it was Covid. And from that moment on I've been attached to an oxygen line. I was told my prognosis was 5 years or less. Quite jarring. Very scary.
Very wrong.
I'm celebrating life today and sending you all a message. No matter what life throws at you, keep going. Don't give up. Don't let numbers limit you. Even through pain, energy limitations, and physical barriers, find your joy. Look for the beauty. Remember who you are and give to others...even if it's simple prayer. You are worthy. Your differences make you unique...not broken. The gift of life is precious and, as the old song says, love is the answer. Be sure to dole it out in large doses!
