I loved reading about perfumes! So many interesting facts are presented here. I don't wear scent as much as I used to, because of health issues, but I do sometimes use a spritz of lavender body spray before sleeping.

One insight my vintage perfume seller told me was that in the old days, when performing their morning ablutions (washing up ), woman would layer their favorite scent via bath oil,powder,cream,etc then toilet water or perfume. That way the scent was really "locked in"

My mom actually did that back in the 50's. There were "layers" of bath oil, talc, and perfume. The powder puff was always in action during the summer heat.
