I am so tired of getting stupid emails telling me that I am being invoiced for something that I didn't buy, or pretending to be an old friend, the list is getting bigger. Today I had to resist the urge to write an insulting reply, because I know from experience that it will just get worse. I delete and move on, but it is annoying as hell. Anyone else?

All..the..time. And I simply ignore them and move on after deleting. We deal with spammers here at the forum daily as well. I will tell you it's been especially bad during spring break and always is on holidays of any kind. The basement dwellers come out in force during those times and it's getting worse.

I actually disconnected my landline phone because it rang constantly with scammers and telemarketers bugging me. My nearest and dearest know my cell number, as well as doctor's offices and such. But I love how easy it is with a cell phone, to screen calls and block them if necessary.

Absolutely agree....getting out of hand.
I block them...just recently MyLife sent a scam/spam email saying my oldest daughter had a criminal record....Of course I know better, I did talk to my daughter just in case, to let her know of possible identity theft :(

Verizon wireless offers a spam/scam blocker with my plan, so I don't get those calls anymore. Last time I had a landline was 2001 :O

I sometimes get a good chuckle from some of these scammers. Like telling me I've won a contest I never entered. Or that my Apple/Door Dash/TikTok/Twitter, ect account has been hacked and I need to contact support right away; when I don't even have an account for any of these sites.

I got a call the other day trying to get me to sign up my car for an extended warranty. I laughed and told the guy my car is too old and has too many miles for me to spend money on a warranty. He tried his sales pitch but I cut him off and said anything more expensive than a brake job or oil change and I just gonna buy a new car so the warranty is useless.

My favorite is an email I've received a few times. It starts out with "Hello, I am a hacker and I have taken complete control of your laptop, Apple, smart phone, tablet or device." If they were that good a hacker they would know what kind of device I have instead of listing all of them. The email goes on to say that they hacked my camera and recorded me looking at "naughty" websites so I need to pay the hacker or they will send the footage to all my Facebook contacts. That's impressive hacking skills considering I don't look at those websites, don't have a Facebook account and don't even have a webcam!

Today I got a letter in the mail that looked like an invitation or a card, it was even handwritten. When I opened it and it was something about a Medicare program. Anything to get to ya when the phone scam doesn't work.
