Artists create hyper-realistic CGI schoolgirl - Unexplained Mysteries

news-cgi-schoolgirl.jpg

Two 3D computer graphics artists in Japan have released images of a realistic computer generated person.
The creation of husband-and-wife team Teruyuki and Yuki Ishikawa, the incredibly life-like images went viral shortly after being uploaded online and left many Internet users struggling to determine whether they were looking at a real person or a computer generated character.

The virtual girl, who has been named Saya, is also set to star in an upcoming movie.

"Since we've been working on this between jobs, it's been somewhat hard," Ishikawa said during an interview with gaming site Kotaku. "We're going to give it our best when making it."

According to the couple the most challenging part of creating the model was producing realistic skin and hair textures - something that they are hoping to go back and improve upon in the future.

Despite the difficulties however it's hard to imagine how the girl could look any more realistic.

Too late, I have to make judgment calls already.
