Raquel Welch dead at 82: Actress dies after brief illness

American actress and international sex symbol Raquel Welch has died at the age of 82 following a brief illness.

I saw her up close back in the late 80s at LAX, I was in line behind her to get orange juice in the TWA Ambassador Club. What surprised me was how small she was, maybe 5'4, 120 lbs. Very pretty, but not overly made up.

She sure was an iconic beauty of our day Duke. Another sad passing, which gives me some anxiety as I see time passing for those in my age group too.
