You may be aware that there has been a sharp increase in younger people being diagnosed with colorectal cancer. My oldest son is one of them. I was made aware today of a new finding about an anti-nausea medication that was widely used between the 60's into 1976. That medication was called Bendectin and was given to combat morning sickness. There is now a direct link found that this medication may be one of the big causes of this cancer for the babies exposed in utero. I was on this medication for 5 months with Jason.

If you fall in this age range, please, check with your mom to see if she took this drug and don't be afraid to be screened sooner rather than later for colon cancer. The current recommendation is to be screened at 50, but for people who were exposed to this med, the earlier the better and don't put it off.

I am so glad I didn't take any meds for my morning sickness; I don't think there was anything offered. I spent my entire pregnancy sick.
