The historic story of the Myrtles is well known here in the states. It is worth reading if you have an interest. As I recall it was a house slave that was worried about being put out to work in the fields and wanted to be seen as needed by nursing the family back to health. The children were accidently given too much poison and died. I believe the slave was hung. Weather this was the circumstances is uncertain, but I think the deaths did occur.
