I have seen ghostly humanoid figures outside in daylight. Details are fuzzy and I never see solid feet. I suspect these are related to wolfish and other cryptids that don't seem completely "phased-in" on our plane.
Every appearance of a beast doesn't mean it's a beast. Human spirits can modify their form as seen by us. Some of the fangs and other threatening features may just be designed to scare us, and not be representative of the intrinsic nature of the apparition.
