I wonder if right handed people tend to put their right thumb on top, and lefties tend to put their left thumb on top?

i think it depends more on the way the fingers are intertwined...which pinky is more often on the bottom. alternating the finger placement from that point on would be more comfortable, so it woukd depend on how one first goes to the position of the grasp.

I'm a leftie but put my right thumb on top.
