My daughter's next door neighbor is named Genevive. Do not call her Ginny.
i know someone very sophisticated named Victoria. Do not call her Vicky which I do constantly to torture her .

She runs a company and whenever her emplyees and I are together I awlays saay "She likes to be called Vicky,right?" Lots of frozen faces HAHAHA I am such a s$*t stirrer

In the 17th century, the shape of the jib sail often identified a vessel's nationality, and hence whether it was hostile or friendly. The term was being used figuratively by the early 1800s, often to express like or dislike for someone.
