Saw a doc some years back that delved into Roanoke. It has always been an enduring mystery but as the years go on, answers are surfacing. The most plausible theory is they dispersed and integrated within other settlements or taken in by other native communities. The one that always pops up is the Croatoan sign, which was an island guides have hunted and may have been a temporary fall back point. There were archaeology sites that started excavating a route that was taken by those that left the settlement.

That's interesting. What's the name of the documentary? I'd love to check it out and share it with Erik.

I love this topic, I wish we could solve this one but I don't think there is enough evidence after all these years to do so.
