I just wanted to share a quick, bittersweet story of something that just happened earlier today.
First a bit of background; a little over two years ago my mother was diagnosed with cancer. She's been going through the treatments and fighting it. However, in December the doctor's told her that the cancer had spread and there was no more they could do. I flew back home with my wife and kids to see her. While we were out there she told me that she had the strangest dream, she had died and was flying around visiting the homes of her parents, her siblings and my sisters to say goodbye. But when she flew to my house she was sad to see that nobody was home. She woke up and realized that of course we weren't at our home because we were all there at her house.
This afternoon my sister called and told me that Mom had passed. I told my wife and children. My son asked if we could go for a walk. I wasn't really feeling up for a walk at that moment, so I stayed home while my wife went walking with the kids. While alone in the house I noticed all the lights flickering, which happens sometimes when the weather is bad. Except it's a clear, albeit cold day. Also the lights weren't flickering in unison but randomly. Further the computer and other electronics were unphased. I then remembered my mom's dream, I said aloud "Goodbye Mom" and the flickering stopped.
I wanted to share this experience but a lot people I know would be weirded out by such a story. Hopefully the fine folks who visit here can understand. Thanks for reading.
