A photo recently snapped by NASA's Mars Curiosity Rover shows a pair of odd 'spikes' extending out of the surface of the Red Planet.

Those are great! I've seen earthly analogs. Surrounding soft sedimentary rock weathers away, leaving hard mineral deposits that seeped into cracks. They look "out of this world", lol.
