Yep. The people involved in this case, both witnesses and ufologists, have turned it into a farce due to their greed and ego. Remember Peter Robbins making a fool of himself on MitD with Bell vehemently defending the former airmen he chose to focus on/write a book with, only to have to later admit the airmen had made it all up and played him? Then there was the "binary download" guy who suddenly remembered the message he received years after the incident. Goofy.
Back about the time DMDN was taking hold, Jimmy Church did a series of shows on his FtB program with a number of those involved (witnesses and researchers) in the case. Some good information did come out during the shows, but each guest spent far too much time attacking other witnesses/researchers rather than concentrating on their own experiences. Another pathetic showing by Peter Robbins, btw.
I contacted Church and suggested a Rendelsham conference where all the witnesses (and only the witnesses) would speak/tell their stories individual, then end with a day long, round table, moderated panel discussion with all the witnesses. I recommended he or Bell moderate, and that the entire event be livestreamed as a pay for view event. I ever offered to put up seed money. Never happened, too much animosity between the parties according to Church.
